Girl fakes Cancer for Fame, Sympathy and Cash

Ashley Kirilow, 23, of Canada faked having cancer for a small bit of fame, a large dose of sympathy and an even larger dose of cash! Ashley Kirilow was outed by her father after he discovered her cancer lies.

In 2008, Ashley Kirilow had a benigh lump removed from her breast and since then she pretended to have cancer. Kirilow even started a Facebook account that also doubled as a charity named “Change for the cure” which took donations so she would be able to pay for Cancer treatment.

Ashley Kirilow took her scam to astronomical levels by recruiting volunteers to help her set up fundraisers and charity events in her name. She was able to get close to $20,000 from her schemes.

Kirilow also told people that her parents were drug addicts or dead and when her father found out about her lies, he told her to come clean or he would out her. Ashley Kirilow refused to tell the truth so her father contacted a volunteer of Kirilows about his daughter’s lies.

The volunteer, Jamie Counsell, 17, posted the following statement:

“As many of you know, I have done a lot of work in the past with “Change” For A Cure. I personally raised over $1500 by running two local shows at the Sharon Hall. These shows saw so much love, and so much talent.

I am writing this to inform you of some news that I am sure will raise some questions. We have been contacted by family members of Ashley Kirilow, the founder and director of “Change” For A Cure, who have told us that Ashley never had cancer.

She led us to believe that she did in order to start this charity. She waxed her head and plucked her eyebrows in an attempt to look as if she was suffering the effects of chemo.”

Ashley Kirilow came out with a statement of her own: “What I did was wrong. I was trying to be noticed. I was trying to get my family back together. I didn’t want to feel like I’m nothing anymore. It went wrong, it spread like crazy, and then it seemed like the whole world knew.”

Ashley Kirilow has disappeared but her parents hope she will be caught and brougt to justice. They say that Ashley has been deceptive and devious her entire life and they are greatly ashamed of her.

What a shame, truly disgusting and vile. Hopefully, Ashley Kirilow will be found and dragged to jail where she belongs. Playing on the sympathies of others is terrible and what Ashley Kirilow did was worst than most.
